YAVIN INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN OUTREACH (YICO)

*“Those who carried materials, did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other…..,” Nehemiah. 4:17 (NIV).
*The practice of our faith goes hand in hand with work, which is the rehabilitation of God’s Kingdom that was initiated by Christ Jesus left to us to maintain through His Holy Ghost. Therefore, we can simultaneously watch and pray. (Pr. Samson Nabbimba)

*“God’s Curriculum Vitae or Resume is strongest above all and the most reliable one to grant us the answers and the desired future we hope for. It has never changed in content since the creation to this day...,” By Rev. Dr. Samson Nabbimba Jr.

*“The impact of evangelism is best portrayed in needs assessment and practically meeting those needs…... hunger with food, thirst with water, homelessness with shelter and nakedness with clothing. This summarizes and engrains the word of love in Christ in it…,” By. Rev. Dr. Samson Nabbimba

*“United in Christ, we shall reach the shoreline no matter the distance of the sea, the strength of the current or the height of the waves; by the end of it by His grace & Holy Spirit we proclaim…, thank you Lord & blessed be the name of the Lord…, By Rev. Dr. Samson Nabbimba

Yavin International Christian Outreach (YICO) is a branch of Yavin Christian Centre. The organisation is a semi-autonomous and the spiritual arm of the YAVIN Society that specifically meets the spiritual needs of the marginalised people and communities that specifically need or request spiritual healing and transformation. YICO/YCC was founded by Dr. Samson Nabbimba an ordained minister and a born again Evangelist called to serve at 14 years of age. Rev. Samson has planted churches and participated in many church planting missions in Africa and elsewhere. Has travelled to many countries for the Lord especially through humanitarian work. These include, United States of America (USA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Canada, United Kingdom and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Together with his wife Alice Nabbimba & children, they have reached out to many churches in Africa especially in the lands of Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and many others. Samson Nabbimba Sr, has served or serves with, and sits on a number of International Christian and non-Christian agencies that include; Full Gospel Missions, Christian Response Ministry, Childcare Canada, Step-up schools, The Gideons International, Inward Temples of God, Omwabini Youth Outreach, Watoto Uganda, The Lutheran World Federation and many more.

Yavin International Christian Outreach (YICO), is governed by Yavin Christian Centre (YCC) the umbrella Organisation that mandates the establishment of other Christian-based branch organisations that include;

  • Yavin Christian Primary Schools.
  • Yavin Christian Nursery Schools.
  • Yavin Christian Vocational Institute.
  • Yavin Worship Centre

For those interested in missions outreach specifically, this is the right place for you. In addition to the physical needs of our clients, we believe that spiritual rehabilitation is essential for a sustainable change. This ministry caters for church-based youth and evangelical groups that are interested in that area.

Yavin International Christian Outreach (YICO) proudly works in association with the United New Testament Church International of the United States of America. Together with the saints, we reach out to all the corners of the earth by His grace. Without each, such an outreach would have been a higher “mountain” to overcome.
Yavin International Christian Outreach (YICO) works in support of YAVIN Society in ensuring the spiritual needs of the disadvantaged and “thirsty” souls especially the youth and children. This is the Christian arm, working under the umbrella of the Society. Yavin International Christian Outreach (YICO) ministry works with churches, families, organisations, schools & various educational institutions to meet the spiritual challenges of those in need especially the young people and women because these are the most vulnerable in our midst. Spiritual challenges must be met by spiritual means, and physical challenges are solved by both spiritual and physical means. This is why our Lord healed the sick and also fed the hungry. When he found the fishermen, he taught them how to fish and also helped them to fish, to make sure that they could gather more fish for survival. This is why our Lord fed the hungry. He could have chosen to heal them and wished them well. But he fed them. He gave them food because that is what is needed by the flesh. He did both, the spiritual and the physical. As believers, we are faced everyday with those without skills but need them. We are faced with the youth and children that were born with H.I.V. They never chose this situation. We are faced with impoverished people who survive by grace. Such youth with HIV, would also want to get married and live a fulfilling life like most of us. But as believers who say that we know the truth, how have we helped them to live a full life without hurting others. How can we help them to live a full life without them hurting others? How can we help them live a full life with skills and tools essential for survival? This is why we need such YICO Ministry to work hand in hand with the rest of the Society and those that share such values.
The foundation for our mission is based on the words of Saint Paul in 1Timothy. 6:18, which commands us to be “good and rich in good works and willing to share…..”
YICO/YCC is a Team of professional born again, strong men and women called to serve amidst the spiritually and physically hurting and challenged beings. The role of these “spiritual dynamites” is to reach out to those candidates of grace and mercy for the good of everyone and the kingdom of God. While addressing the spiritual needs we do not abandon the physical needs of the people and this is why we work in support of the general organisation’s objectives.

We believe that we are all candidates of grace and therefore we all need that fresh touch from the Father whose love is so unconditional that he gave his begotten son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross. We know that even though Christ went, he left us with the helper the Holy Ghost from whom we draw our strength to do all these good works.
Our mission here is to serve others through community outreach, church visits, school and children evangelism. At YAVIN Ministry, we share the practicality of the gospel with an emphasis on the needs and realities of the world. It is our responsibility to address the health challenges like HIV/AIDS and other problems that affect all of us both Christians and non-Christians. We believe that meeting the physical needs of the people goes hand in hand with the spiritual needs of the people. The bible has categorically made it clear to all of us that it is “not by might nor by power, but by my spirit…”, says the Lord. Zechariah 4:6. This means that we have to confront the challenges head-on from all “fronts” in order to win.

Our Faith & Beliefs

As an organization, we believe that Eternal life is achieved through salvation. Salvation is freely given by God the Father to all people that believe and repent. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Ghost. We believe that God sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ who came to die on the cross and rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven but left us with the Holy Spirit to help us to do greater works. We believe that God is one but manifests Himself in the trinity as the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. We believe that there is heaven and hell and getting into either depends on everybody’s choice in life as a believer or non-believer. As we live in this world, we believe that all men are equal before God and all deserve this free gift as well as necessities of life. At YICO we don not discriminate others because of their backgrounds, race and faith except extending that love of Christ through spiritual and humanitarian work based on the word of God. It is our goal to take evangelism by meeting various spiritual and physical needs of the people as we can afford. Our conviction is to extend the love of God through humanitarian work using our professions, talents and gifts.

Activities

This branch of the Society participates in all other activities as indicated on the organisation’s page of the YAVINS agency but with major emphasis on the spiritual needs of the people especially in the areas of biblical encouragement, counseling and prayer.

In line with this, we do reach out to young and older people who need or request our spiritual support. We are grateful to God and those that enabled us to participate in a number of Evangelistic meetings such as with Evangelist Renhard Bonke & Daniel Korenda, various Church meetings in different Churches in Uganda such as Nyendo Fullgospel Church, Inward Temples, Full Gospel Men’s Fellowships and others.

YIKO/YCC, work with a team of men, women, young people from diverse backgrounds but with a call to minister love to the hurting world. We work in partnership and in support of YAVIN Society’s activities in addition to the following:

  1. School, college and campus evangelism
  2. Youth counseling
  3. Evangelistic crusades
  4. Bible & Literature distribution
  5. Youth conferences and workshops
  6. Music, prayer, worship and praise
  7. Officiating at functions e.g. funeral services, weddings etc.

Team leaders
We believe the world is not looking for just “lip service” but just like the Good Samaritan, all of us have a call to real service. Like our Lord who was a carpenter, Luke a doctor and Paul a tentmaker, the world is looking for daring transformed men and women who can touch their day-to-day challenges through love and good works. The world needs that man and woman who can lay down his or her life to serve not only by mere words but also through glad tidings and actions. Leadership and goodwill are not easy but by the grace of God to all those that have been called we can do it and take the lead so that others can be courageous to follow, knowing that someday we shall be called to give an account of what was entrusted to us. It is upon this principle that YICO/YCC was founded by evangelicals with a passion to reach out to the hurting souls and communities that have been affected by poverty, disease and illiteracy. The same grace that kept us alive through the civil wars of Uganda and the grace that enabled us to survive the rockets, bullets and hunger; we want to make sure that we share this grace with the least among us. As a family, we have helped and worked with a number of churches, organisations, pastors and supported children in Africa to attain education, meeting their needs according to our means. We want to specifically thank you all that have supported us especially the Pastoral team, the leadership and the saints of Delta Pentecostal Church, Four Square ministries, Christian Response Ministries (CRM), Full Gospel Church (thanks to Pr. Emmanuel Kalibala) and many others.
Please join us to accomplish the mission, for the battle must be won in the present time because tomorrow we shall be gone. Shalom.
Rev. Dr. Samson Nabbimba & Alice Nabbimba
